CSC mulls new delivery center in Tianjin
Oct. 31, 2008 (China Knowledge) - U.S.-based Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), one of the world's largest IT outsourcing companies, announced that it will build a new delivery center in north China's Tianjin Municipality.
The global financial crisis is likely to force more Western enterprises to outsource their business to countries with lower operating costs, such as China, said Michael Laphen, chairman and CEO with CSC, adding that the move is expected to provide more opportunities for outsourcing companies. Laphen noted that CSC sees further robust growth from China.
CSC's Tianjin delivery center, to be operational as early as the first quarter of 2009, will offer high-quality products and services to CSC's domestic and foreign customers in China and will have 500 employees by 2011, Laphen said, without giving financial details of the investment.
CSC is still optimistic about economic prospects in China as CSC's major customers in China, the manufacturing and financial companies will maintain a fast growth in the following years.
CSC entered the Chinese market in 1991 and now has around 300 employees across the country, with offices in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
